2021 Holiday Gift guide ideas

Ah the Holidays- one of my favourite times of the year. I’m all about the cozy vibes, abundance of holiday treats and quality-time with my family during this festive season. For some people, this time can be a little stressful, especially when they have no idea what to get the people in their life.

This year, I’ve put together a curated list of some of my favourite gift ideas. Personally, when I think of gifts, I think the best ones are things that people would love to have, but don’t necessarily want to splurge or buy for themselves.  Scroll through below and don’t forget to share your gift ideas in the comments!

For the coffee lover

The Nespresso Vertuo Advent Calendar ($45) accompanied with a cute mug is the perfect gift for the coffee lover in your life.

The Nespresso Vertuo Advent Calendar includes 23 Vertuo capsules with a surprise on the last day. You can give this as an early gift so your coffee lover can enjoy a new flavour of coffee each day leading up to December 24, or why not extend the festive spirit into January 2022!

My favourite festive mugs are from Indigo. I don’t know about you, but I think drinking a hot cup of coffee from a cute mug makes the experience that much more enjoyable. My favourites this season include the Polar Bear Mug ($14), Santa Cookie Pocket Mug ($16) and Polar Bear Mug with Spoon ($22)

ANITA’S PICK: Indigo Polar Bear Mug with Spoon $22

For the Chef 👩🏻‍🍳

I don’t think I’ve seen a pan promoted as much as the Always Pan ($195 or $125 during the Black Friday sale!). If by some chance, you haven’t seen it on social media or heard about it through the grapevine, let me give you an overview. It’s a versatile pan, that comes in a variety of beautiful colours, intended to replace all your other pans because of its functionality. It also comes with a spatula and built-in spoon rest as well as a nesting steam basket and colander.

I personally haven’t bit the bullet and bought one, but like I said, this would make a great gift. My favourite colour is Lavender (currently sold out), but Blue Salt is a close second!

ANITA’S PICK: Always Pan in Blue Salt $195
Always Pan in Spice $195

For the Techy

When it comes to tech and gadgets, you can’t go wrong. This is always a popular category for gift-giving.

The first tech item I recommend are the Govee LED Strip lights ($20). These colour changing lights are so cool and perfect for movie nights. Aside from your TV, you can virtually put them anywhere else around your space that you want to illuminate for a party or just a Netflix and chill night.

For the person who frequently loses things like their keys, wallet, AirPods, etc., Apple’s AirTag ($39) is a thoughtful gift to help them locate their items. Or, if they’re not an Apple user, the OG, Tile has a great essentials 4-pack ($80) of it’s various bluetooth trackers. I actually received a Tile Mate as a gift this year and it’s come in quite handy.

Govee LED Strip Lights $20
Apple AirTag: $39 each or 4-pack for $129
Tile Essentials 4-pack includes 1 Mate, 1 Slim, 2 Stickers ($80)

For the Home

I’ve mentioned Saje’s diffusers before in the Lifestyle section of my website, and I stand by their products as gifts.

What I love about Saje’s diffusers is they aren’t an eye-sore like some other diffusers on the market. The design of these ones are essentially modern pieces of art, that can go with your existing home decor.

My current favourites are limited edition pieces, which make the perfect gifts. The Saje X The Little Market Aroma Mosaic Diffuser ($98) is a collaboration empowering women artisans worldwide. It’s gorgeous! The Saje Aroma Gem Matte White Diffuser ($75) is another great option with a geometric gem shape.

To go along with the diffuser, diffuser blends are a must! A great option is the Happy Home Inspiring (love this name) Diffuser Blend Collection ($48). It comes with 4 diffuser blends including Rain, Into the Trees, Refresh and my personal favourite, Liquid Sunshine. If you’re going to get any of these in full-size, I highly recommend Liquid Sunshine, especially for the upcoming winter months.

For the One who lounges in style

I think it’s safe to say loungewear is not going out of style anytime soon. Not only is loungewear essential during the winter months, but a lot of people are still working from home, and guess what? They still want to be comfortable!

The deejay t-jr. shop has a great selection of unisex hoodies and joggers to choose from. I love my neutrals, but my personal favourites from the collection are the T-Jr. Hoodie ($70) and T-Jr. Joggers ($70) in Maroon. The colour is perfect for the festive season.

Another loungewear essential is a pair of slippers. Now, if you’re going to gift a pair of slippers, I recommend splurging on the UGG Scuffette II Slippers ($105). They have a variety of colourways, including classics like Chestnut and Espresso, but my favourites are the ones in the greyish purple tone called Thunder Cloud.

T-Jr. Hoodie (Maroon) $70

UGG Scuffette II Slippers (Chestnut) $105
UGG Scuffette II Slippers (Espresso) $105

For the Sentimental one

Personalized gifts are one of the most meaningful. My friend Miranda is the founder of glitterandtreasures and handcrafts the cutest customized trinkets. She creates custom keychains, ornaments and even personalized cups! If you have a specific design or colour combo in mind, just DM her and she’ll bring your vision to reality! Explore the glitterandtreasures Instagram page to see more.

ANITA’S PICK: One of my favourites are her personalized ornaments, which make perfect gifts to mark a milestone, special event, new addition to the family, and more!

For the Jet-Setter

People are finally getting excited to start travelling again, so why not gift your jet-setter with some new travel accessories!

BÉIS is my current obsession. The Weekender Bag ($128) is the perfect bag to use for short overnight trips or as a carry on to fit all your essentials. My favourite features about the bag, (other than the spaciousness) is the bottom compartment, which is designed for shoes, and the trolley sleeve so it can be placed over your luggage handle.

The On The Go Essential Case ($63) is another clutch bag. This case helps you organize all your travel essentials and also comes with a mirror. It has clear windows so you can see what’s inside, which makes it ideal for taking with you on the plane. My favourite colourway in both items is Beige 😍.

ANITA’S PICK: BÉIS The On The Go Essential Case $63

For the Beauty Guru

The Dyson Airwrap styler Complete ($699) is the most expensive item on this list, which makes it all the more reason to gift to the beauty guru in your life. The hefty price tag also makes it a great option to have a few people pitch in on as well. Nickel/Fuchsia is the OG colourway, but the special edition colour Prussian Blue/Rich Copper is stunning and my pick if you’re going to make the splurge!

I have a bit of an obsession with lip balm, and Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balms ($62 for trio or $29 each) are my go-to. For the Holidays, Summer Fridays came out with a trio set. I love value sets like these because you can try multiple colours at a great price. Although I love the original clear lip butter in Vanilla, Vanilla Beige is my favourite because it has a bit of a tint to it. If you just want to get one as a gift, I recommend that one.

ANITA’S PICK: Dyson Airwrap Styler Complete (Prussian Blue/ Rich Copper) $699
Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm Trio $62

For the One who loves stylish essentials

I think face masks are sticking around for the next while in a lot of places, so the final ideas on my list cover those essentials.

I love my Lover’s Tempo Everly Convertible Glasses/Mask Chain ($28). I haven’t used it for glasses, but I don’t leave my house without my mask on my chain (this sounds like it could be a rap lyric). Not only is it functional because you don’t lose your mask when you take it off, but it’s a beautiful accessory. I receive compliments every time I go out! Lover’s Tempo is a Canadian jewelry company based in Vancouver. They have a variety of other mask accessories, but I also suggest you check out their jewelry pieces because they also make great gifts too!

And finally, can you really have too many face masks? Why not buy some as stocking stuffers. My favourites are the Aritzia Sculpted Cotton Face Masks ($10 each or 3 for $25). They have so many colours to choose from and lots of neutrals too, like my personal favourite, Dark Sand Brown.
